Daniel Lafrance has been an active music publisher since 1976. He is presently General Manager of Éditorial Avenue, a major francophone music publishing society with its head office in Montreal and a branch in Paris.
He was Vice-President of SODRAC from 1990 to 2008, Vice-President of MUSICACTION from 1992 to 1996, secretary and treasurer of ADISQ from 1985 to 1996, treasurer of CINARS (Conference Internationale des Arts de la Scène) from 1989 to 1992 and President of APEM/PMPA (Professional Music Publishers’ Association) from 2003 to 2011. Daniel Lafrance is actually a board member of the following organizations: CMRRA, CSHF (Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame) and APEM.
He is an Honorary Member of ADISQ and has been repeatedly recognized as Publisher of the Year by this association in 1992, 1993, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006. He also received the Christopher Reed Award in 2013 for his career achievements.
